10 Things We All Hate About Best Robot Vacuum For Carpet

The Best Robot Vacuum For Carpet

There's a robot that can be found for all carpet types, regardless of whether it's high-pile or low-pile. These intelligent appliances can navigate your home, suck up debris and even clean under furniture.

They have advanced features like mapping, which help them navigate through your home and keep track of where furniture is located. They can also increase suction power to clean up areas.

iRobot Roomba 694

The Roomba 694 from iRobot is a robot vacuum for entry-level use that performs well on both carpets with low pile and bare floors. It has a decent suction and can clean most debris, however it isn't able to handle bigger debris like rice or sand. It does a good job cleaning pet hair, but is not as resistant to tangling as premium Roomba models like the j7 and I6.

The Roomba is easy to operate. It has three buttons on its top cover. "Clean," which initiates a cleaning session, 'Dock,' which puts it in its charging station and 'Spot,' which activates an individualized cleaning. It can be controlled with an app on your smartphone that allows you to schedule or stop/start cycles, as well as adjust settings. You can also connect the device to smart home devices like Alexa or Google Assistant to control it by voice commands.

This vacuum is a bit slower than other models, but it is still able to reach the majority of crevices and corners. It has a large bin, which makes it easier to empty. It's compatible with virtual barriers and digital mapping that let you make it impossible to clean certain areas or stop cleaning altogether if you want to keep it from getting stuck on something.

It's not the best in its price range but it's still better than the majority of other options. The Roborock E4 is more advanced than the Roomba 694 with a much better cleaning efficiency on both bare and low-pile carpets. It also has a more durable battery and a better route. It is also more durable, has fewer components that require regular maintenance, is priced less over its life and charges faster than 694.

It is also worth considering other models within the iRobot range, including the v7 or 981. The v7 and 981 are more expensive, but offer significant improvement in cleaning efficiency, both on low and bare pile floors. They also have a bigger dirt compartment they charge faster, can move more easily, and are easier to pair up with smart home devices.

Shark RV1001AE IQ

This self-emptying robotic vacuum cleaner does an excellent job on carpets with low piles and hard floors. Its combination brush gets into corners and edges and it automatically increases suction when it spots carpet. It also does a great job of cleaning embedded dirt off carpet in the middle. The IQ's compact footprint for docks and its self-emptying feature are both nice features. However, if you want to change the floor levels on the map or create no-go zones, you'll have manually reset it to do so, which is a bit of a hassle.

The IQ's app comes with advanced mapping and automation features but it's missing no-go zones which are included on iRobot models. Its smart-pathing system allows for superior maneuverability and the high-pile feature of its carpet cleaning mode is effective however it can be stuck on the tassels of the rug.

During our tests in our tests, the IQ was adept at handling pet hair well, clearing huge amounts of hair from bare floors and fair amounts of medium-pile carpet. It was less effective on shag carpets which was a struggle to reach dirt and dust embedded in the fibers. It was able to maneuver the legs of a chair, tiny spaces as well as the base of an IKEA wooden step stool. It was a little slower on floors that were not paved however it soon recovered speed and performed more thoroughly than the other robots we tested.

The IQ is a better choice over the iRobot Roomba 694 for most uses. It has a larger dustbin and lasts longer on charge, and does a better job of getting over obstacles. It also comes with a mopping attachment that can deal with sticky messes. On the other side, the iRobot is more durable and has fewer components that require maintenance or replacement, incurs lower recurring costs and creates virtual no-go zones through its companion app. It is able to even resume the cleaning process from where it left off in case it is unable to recharge its battery prior to having completed the task. The iRobot can also be controlled via voice commands, which is an advantage for many users.

Eufy 11S

The RoboVac 11S eufy robot vacuum isn't among the most feature-rich models, but it does offer powerful cleaning power at an affordable price. It's designed for those who don't require a complicated mapping system or an app to control the device. This robot will last for up to an hour. It comes with the remote control, cleaning tool and AC power adapter.

The 11S is slim and sleek with an upper deck of tempered glass that is covered with plastic, which is finished to appear like brushed aluminum. It's a nice aesthetic departure from Roomba, Samsung, and Neato designs that are more practical and industrial.

In our tests, the eufy11S was excellent at picking up larger particles and fine dust on hard flooring. It struggled to deep clean medium and high-pile carpets. It is also prone to smack into furniture and people that are in its path however, it is able to detect obstacles with sensors. It stops and emits a loud noise when it encounters an obstacle. You can then manually steer the device around it to restart it.

The BoostIQ mode is another fantastic feature of the eufy11S. It lets you set the robot up to automatically adjust suction strength based on the type of floor and the amount of mess. The remote control makes it simple to direct the 11S to your desired location.

Single Room Mode is a great option for those with small furniture in the room you want to vacuum. The eufy will take 30 minutes intensely cleaning the space it's assigned.

You can also choose Edge Cleaning which restricts the amount of time in each location to 20 minutes to ensure optimal battery life. If you select this option, the eufy will move in a spiral pattern to clean edges and corners for an efficient clean.

Miele Complete C1

The Miele Complete C1 is an excellent mid-range canister robotic vacuum that can be a great performer on carpet. Its performance on bare floors is also impressive. It can pick up small particles such as rice effortlessly and doesn't lose suction power even when its dirt bin gets full. Its air-sealed and allergy-friendly design traps allergens, keeping your family healthy. It comes with an onboard HEPA filter and a self-emptying bin, so you don't need additional filters or a separate bag for your vacuum.

It's not as powerful as more expensive models, but it's ideal for deep cleaning and tackling staining. The two cameras on the front of the unit provide live images to your smartphone, and it features one of the most effective obstacle avoidance systems we've ever seen. It has a huge bin, an extended runtime and a quick, bump-free cleanup.

The Complete C1 is unlike most robots because it can switch between two heads, a standard and a turbo for different types of flooring. The turbo head is great for low-pile and high-pile carpeting and the standard powerhead can be used on robot cleaner and mop bare floors and lightweight carpets. It also has an automatic height adjustment system that enables it to adapt to different kinds of flooring without manual adjustments.

This model comes bundled with a SBD 285-3 Classic Combination Floorhead that can handle both hard floors and carpeting with a medium pile. The motor can also be easily moved and get into difficult areas. It has five different adjustments to the surface and an off-brush switch to avoid hairs getting caught in knots.

The Classic C1 also has a self-cleaning brush roll and an UtraClean mode that cycles across the same area three times to ensure the best possible clean, and a self-emptying dustbin that can be emptied with the press of the button. The noise level is a little higher than other models however its powerful 1,200-watt motor as well as solid construction make it well worth the extra expense.

If you're willing to spend a little more then the Miele Complete C3 canister robot vacuum is an excellent all-around robot vacuum. It performs better on carpets than the Classic C1. It performs better on all kinds of floors and is more robustly built, and comes with a HEPA filter.
